Former Australia batsman Matthew Hayden believes Shubman Gill will dominate world cricket for the next decade because of his ability to score big. Gill, 23, has so far scored two centuries in Test matches, four in ODIs and one century in T20 International cricket. His brilliant innings of 67 off 49 balls helped Gujarat Titans beat Punjab Kings by six wickets in the IPL. Hayden is among the many who have been impressed by Gill’s ability to maintain control of the game.
Matthew Hayden told Star Sports that Gujarat Titans needed a batsman to shoulder the responsibility while chasing against a good bowling attack of Punjab Kings and Shubman Gill played that role well. Some of his shots brought relief to the eyes. He is such a good player that he is going to dominate world cricket for the next decade.
Shubman Gill has so far scored 2083 runs in 78 matches of IPL, in which he has scored 16 half-centuries. He has the ability to tear apart any bowling attack. He changes the course of the match in just a few balls. He single-handedly won the IPL 2022 title to Gujarat Titans. In IPL 2022, Gill scored 483 runs in 16 matches.
