Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) entered the IPL 2025 Mega Auction with a substantial purse of INR 83 crore, the second-largest among franchises. Day 1: Strengthening the Bowling Attack

RCB’s focus on Day 1 was acquiring uncapped Indian talent. Bowlers like Jitesh Sharma, Rasikh Dar Salam, and Suyash Sharma were notable signings, addressing gaps in their bowling department. These additions laid the groundwork for a balanced squad capable of delivering in high-pressure situations.

Day 2: Securing All-rounders and Overseas Talent

With INR 30.65 crore remaining for Day 2, RCB targeted versatile players. Former Mumbai Indians star Tim David was a steal at INR 3 crore, adding explosive middle-order strength. Veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, a key acquisition for INR 10.75 crore, bolstered the pace attack with his expertise in powerplay and death overs.

Following the release of former skipper Faf du Plessis, RCB’s captaincy for the 18th IPL season remains undecided. All eyes will be on Virat Kohli, the cornerstone of the franchise, to guide a promising squad.
