RCB Announces Six-Point Manifesto After Bengaluru Stampede for IPL 2026

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have taken a big step after the tragic stampede in Bengaluru. The team has released a six-point manifesto to support families and fans affected by the incident. This is part of RCB Cares, the franchise’s social initiative.

Earlier, RCB gave INR 25 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives. Now, with this new plan, the team promises long-term support and meaningful actions.

Six Commitments by RCB for IPL 2026

  1. Beyond financial help
RCB said it will provide human and transparent support to the families and fans impacted.
  2. Safe environments
The franchise will work with stadium authorities, cricket boards, and league partners to improve crowd safety and management.
  3. Community empowerment
RCB has already started social programs in rural Karnataka. The first project has begun with the Siddi community.
  4. Research and training
The team will create a fan-safety audit and train ground partners every year on crowd management and emergency action.
  5. Permanent tribute
RCB will build a dedicated space in Bengaluru to honour the names and stories of their most loyal fans.
  6. Futures through sport
The franchise will create jobs in stadiums, help local talent, and support the next generation in sports.

On June 4, RCB’s IPL 2025 victory celebrations turned into a tragedy. The team had planned to celebrate their first-ever title win after defeating Punjab Kings. Fans had waited 18 years for this moment.

Authorities did not allow an open-top bus parade from Vidhana Soudha to the stadium. Still, more than two lakh fans gathered near M. Chinnaswamy Stadium after RCB’s social media posts. Only pass holders were allowed inside the venue.

Many people waited outside, and the area became overcrowded. A temporary slab over a drain collapsed under pressure from the crowd. Panic spread quickly, leading to a deadly stampede.

The incident claimed 11 lives and injured many others.

With this manifesto, RCB hopes to bring healing, safety, and respect to the fans and families affected.
