The Indian Premier League 2026 season has brought a big change for Ravindra Jadeja. The star all-rounder has moved from Chennai Super Kings to Rajasthan Royals. His exit from CSK ended a long and successful journey.
Jadeja admitted that leaving CSK was not easy. He spent around 12 to 13 years with the team and was a key player in many title wins. He played a big role in their championships in 2018, 2021, and 2023. His all-round skills and fielding made him one of their most valuable players.
Ravindra Jadeja jokes on CSK Jersey getting old
“I’m liking the pink colour. The yellow had started to feel a bit old, but I’m just joking. Obviously, leaving a franchise like CSK, where I had played for 12-13 years, was a little difficult initially. It was very emotional. But I told myself that changes like these are also part of the journey. The good thing was that I’m now with the team where I had first won an IPL title,” Jadeja said on Jio Hotstar.
The move also marks a special return for Jadeja. He started his IPL career with Rajasthan Royals and won the title in 2008.
“That memory has always stayed with me, that after the Under-19 World Cup, I started my IPL career there and won the title in my very first season. I have carried those memories along with a positive mindset, and my aim is to learn as much as I can with the new group and also share my experience with the team,” he added.
Jadeja has already made an impact in IPL 2026. In his first match against his former side, he picked up two key wickets. Rajasthan Royals went on to win the match comfortably.
