Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the Indian women’s hockey team after they won the silver medal in the Women’s Asia Cup 2025. The final was played in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, on Sunday.
India lost 1-4 to China in the title clash. With this win, China booked a direct spot in the 2026 World Cup, which will be played in Belgium and the Netherlands. India, however, will now have to go through the World Cup qualifiers.

Their determination and team spirit are simply outstanding. Wishing them the very best for the times to come,” he wrote on X.
