Novak Djokovic, one of the greatest tennis players ever, made history on Sunday by winning the Australian Open for the tenth time by defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets.
Salman Butt, a former Pakistan cricketer, made a hilarious comment on his YouTube channel at the age of 35 about Djokovic’s accomplishments. Butt talked about how Djokovic’s life would have been different if he had played cricket in Pakistan at this age.
“Shukr hai wo tennis khel skta hai. Pakistan mein hota to 30 saal se upar cricket nahi khel skta tha (Good that he plays tennis. If he was in Pakistan he wouldn’t have been able to play cricket after turning 30),” said Butt in a video on his YouTube channel.
“He wouldn’t have been able to play even after scoring three hundreds,” said the presenter who was on the video alongside Butt.
The retired Pakistani cricketer replied, ” That was how we used to set up. I have no idea what kind of people they were. Would continue to play even at 45 or 50, but others would say you can’t because you’re older than 30.”
After winning his 22nd Grand Slam title at the Australian Open, Djokovic reclaimed the top spot in the ATP rankings that were released on Monday.
The 35-year-old Serbian climbed four spots to topple Spain’s Carlos Alcaraz, who dropped to second after missing the tournament with an injury.
With his 10th Australian Open title, Djokovic has risen to the top of the world rankings for the 374th week since July 2011.
