The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 will begin on Saturday evening with a colourful Opening Ceremony at the famous Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The event will build excitement before the first match between co-hosts India and the USA.
The ceremony will start at 6 pm IST. Organisers have turned the stadium into one large performance stage. The show will feature live music, dance, and special visual effects. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Trophy will also make a dramatic entry.
Music, Dance and Trophy Arrival in Mumbai for IND vs USA
The program will open with a musical performance by Rishab Sharma and Shivamani. Soon after, the tournament trophy will arrive in a unique way. A jetpack performer will carry the trophy into the stadium to entertain fans.
ICC Chairman Jay Shah and former India captain Rohit Sharma will welcome the trophy. Rohit Sharma captained India to the title in the 2024 edition. They will be joined by 20 children representing all participating countries. Together, they will officially declare the tournament open.
Fans will then enjoy star performances. Popular singer Badshah will deliver a live concert. After that, Nora Fatehi will perform a grand dance act with a large group of dancers. The two artists will also appear together for the finale.
The ceremony has been planned to match the speed and excitement of T20 cricket. The official tournament logo will form the main stage on the field. The event will end with a bright fireworks and pyrotechnic display.
Only fans with match tickets can attend the ceremony. Spectators are advised to arrive early. The opening match between India and the USA will begin at 7 pm IST, right after the celebrations conclude.
