MS Dhoni Bags new prestigious badge after Lieutenant Governor; Becomes a Certified Drone Pilot

Legendary India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has added another big achievement to his name. This time, it is off the cricket field. Dhoni has officially become a certified drone pilot.

Dhoni is known for living a quiet life away from the spotlight. He stays away from social media and keeps his personal life private. But he never hides his love for bikes and technology. His garage has one of the best motorcycle collections in India.

A New Milestone for MS Dhoni as Certified Drone Pilot

Dhoni also has a deep respect for the Indian Army. In 2011, he received the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army’s Parachute Regiment (106 Para TA Battalion). In 2019, he spent 15 days with his battalion in Jammu and Kashmir. He joined patrols and guard duties with the Victor Force. Later, he became a trained paratrooper after completing five parachute jumps from a C-130J Super Hercules aircraft.

Now, MS Dhoni has achieved something new. He recently shared on social media that he earned his drone pilot license. Garuda Aerospace, a leading Indian drone company, confirmed the news. Dhoni, who is the company’s brand ambassador and investor, completed his training at their DGCA-approved Remote Pilot Training Organisation in Chennai.

“Having our brand ambassador and investor, MS Dhoni, personally undergo the training and get certified as a pilot is a monumental milestone for us. He picked it up very quickly and was extremely focused on learning. His belief in our mission to revolutionise the drone industry is a massive source of encouragement for the entire team. Mahi Bhai is an inspiration, and his hands-on approach validates our commitment to skill and innovation in this sector,” Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, said.

Dhoni made his India debut in 2004. As captain, he remains the only one to win all three ICC trophies the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy. He retired from international cricket in 2020.
