Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been fined by the ICC. He was found guilty of breaking the Code of Conduct on Day 4 of the third Test in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 at the Lord’s Cricket Ground.
Siraj was involved in an incident with England batter Ben Duckett. After dismissing Duckett, Siraj celebrated in an aggressive way. His actions were seen as disrespectful that could have provoked the batter.
Mohammed Siraj Fined 15% Match Fees of IND vs ENG 3rd Test by ICC
The ICC did not approve of this behaviour. They said Siraj broke Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct. This rule is about using words or actions that could anger the batter after dismissal.
Because of this, Siraj has been fined 15 percent of his match fee. He has also received one demerit point.
This is Siraj’s second offence in the last 24 months. He had earlier been punished during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. If he collects four or more demerit points in two years, he could face suspension.
The incident was promptly reported by the match officials Jeff Crowe, Kumar Dharmasena and Chris Gaffaney (On-field Umpires) and Rod Tucker (TV Umpire). Since Siraj accepted the punishment, there was no need for a formal hearing.
The ICC said they expect better behaviour from players. Celebrations must not disrespect opponents. Cricket should be played with passion, but also with respect.

Siraj is one of India’s top pacers. He has done well in recent matches. But he must now be careful with his behaviour on the field. This fine is a reminder for all cricketers. Even top players must follow the rules. The ICC wants to keep cricket fair and respectful.
As the series continues, fans hope Siraj will continue to perform well. But they also expect him to stay calm and disciplined.
