The fast bowler will now spend time with the England and Sussex medical teams, who are in charge of managing his injury.

While Archer is ruled out of Ashes wicketkeeper-batsman Jonny Bairstow has recovered from his foot injury and will make his national return in the one-off Test against Ireland. At the same time, this player will also be seen playing in the Ashes.
