IPL 2025 Finalists Punjab Kings Donate INR 33.8 Lakh to Support Punjab Flood Victims

Punjab is facing its worst floods in decades. Heavy rains and rising rivers have left the state struggling. The Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers overflowed after days of downpours in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. Releases from dams made the situation worse.

So far, at least 37 people have lost their lives. More than 3.5 lakh residents have been affected. Nearly 1,000 villages are underwater, and over 61,000 hectares of farmland are damaged. All 23 districts of Punjab have been declared flood-hit. Rescue teams, including the Indian Army, NDRF, BSF, and local officials, have evacuated more than 11,000 people.

“Together for Punjab” Relief Drive by Punjab Kings

In this moment of crisis, the Indian Premier League team Punjab Kings (PBKS) has stepped in. The franchise has donated INR 33.8 lakh to help victims.

PBKS also launched a campaign called “Together for Punjab.” It has partnered with Hemkunt Foundation and Round Table India to provide direct support. The money will be used to buy inflatable rescue boats. These boats will not only help in current rescue efforts but will also serve as permanent disaster-response tools.

In an official statement, PBKS said, “We are devastated to see the suffering caused by floods in our beloved state. By joining hands with Hemkunt Foundation and RTI, we aim to help victims and build resilience for Sadda Punjab.”

The franchise confirmed that funds will also go towards clean drinking water, food supplies, and medical care. PBKS wants to ensure relief reaches families across the worst-hit regions.

Apart from this, PBKS has launched a fundraising campaign on Ketto. The aim is to raise INR 2 crore. The collected amount will go to The Global Sikh Charity, which is actively working in flood-hit areas and helping with rebuilding.

Punjab Kings have shown that cricket goes beyond the field. The franchise is using its platform to stand with the people of Punjab in one of their toughest times.
