Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) is now welcoming back Gautam Gambhir as the mentor in the team management for IPL 2024. Gautam Gambhir was a mentor of the newly formed team in IPL 2022, Lucknow Super Giants.
Gambhir is the only captain who has led KKR towards lifting their 2 IPL titles in 2012 and 2014 and has always expressed his happiness to be a part of the camp. With Gambhir back in the team KKR can be a strong contender once again in the tournament.
Under Gambhir’s captaincy, for the first time KKR qualified for the play-offs for five times back-to-back and major huge mark on the IPL points table. In a recent statement Gautam Gambhir and The renowned Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan (the team owner) expressed their happiness of the former being back to the team.

“I am not an emotional person and not many things move me. But this is different. This is back to where it all started. Today, there is a lump in my throat and fire in my heart as I think about slipping into that purple and gold jersey once again”, said Gambhir in a statement.
“Gautam has always been part of the family and this is our captain coming back home in a different avatar as a ‘Mentor’. He was sorely missed and now we all look forward to Chandu [Chandrakant Pandit] Sir and Gautam in instilling the never-say-die spirit and of sportsmanship they stand for, in creating magic with Team KKR,” said Shah Rukh Khan while while welcoming back Gambhir.
