After the English showers completely washed away the first test, it’s now time for test 2. India performed way better than England with the ball in the first test. All the bowlers were exceptional and on point. This will surely give them confidence and be a morale booster going into the second test. India would look to seize even the tiniest of opportunities presented to them. England on the other hand has to improve their batting and prevent a disastrous collapse like in the first test. They’ll look to build partnerships and innings and score big. They will need other batsmen to put their hand up and not over-rely on Joe Root.
Both teams will head to Lords a bit concerned over the form of their main batters. Barring, Joe Root who single-handedly saved the match with a fifty and a crucial hundred in the second innings none of the England batters looked comfortable against the four-seam attack of India whereas Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane looked off-color for the visitors.
Indian bowler Shardul Thakur may miss the second test match due to an injury, this will give Ashwin a chance to shine in the second match. Ashwin is experienced and has the ability to pick wickets on any wicket. He can also chip in with the bat and that would be valuable in English conditions.
All in all, this will be a mouth-watering clash between India and England.
