India eye second win as Bangladesh begin campaign
India U19 began their campaign on a winning note. The Ayush Mhatre-led side defeated USA U19 by six wickets in their opening match. Rain played a major role, and the result was decided using the DLS method.
After winning the toss, India chose to bowl first. The bowlers dominated from the start. USA U19 were bowled out for just 107 runs. Henil Patel was the star performer. He picked up an excellent five-wicket haul.
Due to frequent rain interruptions, India’s target was revised to 96 runs. The Indian batters chased it down with ease. They reached the target in 17.2 overs to secure their first win of the tournament.
Bangladesh U19 will play their first match of the World Cup. Their preparations have not been smooth. Both of their warm-up matches were washed out and ended with no result.
Despite that, Bangladesh U19 have shown good form in recent months. They reached the semi-finals of the U19 Asia Cup. Their journey ended with a loss to Pakistan U19.
The match is expected to be competitive. India will aim to continue their winning momentum. Bangladesh will look to make a strong start.
