Pakistan cricketer Haider Ali has been arrested in England over a serious allegation. The 24-year-old batter was taken into custody by Greater Manchester Police on August 3, 2025. He was arrested after a woman filed a Sexual Assault complaint about an incident that happened on July 23, 2025, in Manchester.
Haider was in England with the Pakistan Shaheens, the A-team of Pakistan cricket. He was playing a match at Hove on the day of his arrest.
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement,
“A report of a rape was made on Monday, 4 August 2025. The incident is said to have taken place on 23 July 2025 at a property in Manchester. A 24-year-old man was arrested and later released on bail.”
The police did not name Haider, but the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) confirmed his identity. The board also announced that Haider Ali has been provisionally suspended. He is not allowed to take part in any cricket activity until the legal case ends.
The PCB said it is helping Haider with legal support and respects the UK’s legal process. It also said it will take further action after the investigation is complete.
