IPL 2022 champions Gujarat Titans aim for their second title with key international signings
Gujarat Titans (GT) showcased their ambition at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction by assembling a power-packed squad featuring marquee international stars and promising domestic talent. Retaining core players Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Rashid Khan, GT focused on bolstering both their batting and bowling departments.
The franchise made waves by acquiring Jos Buttler for ₹15.75 crore, securing a world-class opener to reinforce their batting firepower. To strengthen the middle order, GT added young wicketkeeper-batters Anuj Rawat and Kumar Kushagra, bringing depth and flexibility.
Balanced Squad Brimming with Talent
Washington Sundar joined the team as a versatile all-rounder alongside stalwarts Rashid Khan and Rahul Tewatia, boosting GT’s spin and batting options. The franchise also tapped into rising talent Nishant Sindhu and experienced campaigner Mahipal Lomror to enhance their batting depth.
GT’s pace attack was significantly bolstered with Mohammed Siraj (₹12.25 crore), Kagiso Rabada (₹10.75 crore), and Gerald Coetzee (₹2.40 crore). The return of Prasidh Krishna after a stellar IPL 2024 and the inclusion of young spinner Manav Suthar further fortified the bowling unit.
In one of the auction’s biggest bargains, Glenn Phillips was acquired for ₹2 crore, adding explosiveness to GT’s middle order. With a well-rounded squad blending experience and potential, Gujarat Titans are ready to push for their second IPL title in 2025.
