Exclusive: Hardik Pandya traded to Mumbai Indians for undisclosed amount of money for IPL 2024

Hardik Pandya has left Gujarat Titans and moved back to his former IPL team Mumbai Indians after leading the GT for 2 editions. Gujarat Titans won their first IPL title in their debut season of 2022 and reached the finals in IPL 2023 where they ultimately lost to Chennai Super Kings.

There were multiple speculations that Pandya had been already traded to Mumbai before the retention window closed; however it was a shocker when Gujarat Titans announced him as retained. Just after a few hours, Mumbai Indians welcomed back Pandya in their squad. An official announcement came the next day on 27 November.

“Hardik and MI reached the decision a couple of months before the World Cup. The Titans management and Hardik have had growing differences. It’s up to the two franchises to firm up the modalities and formalize the deal. An announcement will be made only after that,” a close source of the BCCI.

“This brings back so many wonderful memories. Mumbai. Wankhede. Paltan. Feels good to be back. 💙 #OneFamily @mipaltan”  tweeted Hardik Pandya.
