Exclusive: BCCI Releases Indian Squad for Asian Games 2023

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the 15-Man team squad with five standby players for the upcoming Asian Games on 15 July 2023. The tournament is scheduled in Hangzhou, the People’s Republic of China, from 23rd September to 8th October 2023.

The men’s cricket event in the Asian Games 2023 will be conducted in the T20 format from 28 September to 8 October 2023. The games will be held at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field.

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled in India from 5th October, and the squad members of the Asian Games 2023 are probably those who will not be able to take part in the prestigious tournament.

The squad members selected for the Asian Games 2023 are mostly young cricketers who have showcased spectacular performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The team will be led by the Chennai Super Kings’ opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad. The squad also comprises destructive batsmen like Yashasvi Jaiswal, Tilak Varma and Rinku Singh, with attacking bowlers Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi.
