England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced the men’s squads for the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka in 2026. The tour will include both ODIs and T20Is. It will also act as important preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
Harry Brook has been named captain for all squads. Jos Buttler is also included and remains one of the most experienced players in the team. Several young and exciting players have also been picked as England looks to build a strong unit for the future.
England’s Tour of Sri Lanka Schedule and Squad Details
England’s tour of Sri Lanka will begin on January 22. The team will play three One-Day Internationals first. All ODI matches will be held in Colombo. After that, England and Sri Lanka will play a three-match T20I series. The T20I series will start on January 30. All matches will take place at the Pallekele International Stadium in Kandy.
The T20 squad includes Harry Brook as captain. Other key names are Jos Buttler, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, and Ben Duckett. Young players like Jacob Bethell and Rehan Ahmed also feature. The squad has a good mix of power hitters, all-rounders, and specialist bowlers.
After the Sri Lanka tour, England will turn full attention to the T20 World Cup campaign.
The ODI squad also sees Harry Brook leading the side. Joe Root and Zak Crawley have been added to bring experience to the batting line-up. Adil Rashid will again lead the spin attack. Sam Curran and Jamie Overton add depth in all-round options.
For the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, England have named a provisional squad. Jofra Archer returns to the setup, which will be a big boost. The squad is similar to the T20I group and focuses on balance, pace, and flexibility.
