Shubman Gill’s bat has spoken fiercely in the 16th season of the Indian Premier League. Gill has surprised everyone with his strong performance. Meanwhile, former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has revealed the secret of Shubman Gill’s success.
Reacting to Shubman Gill’s century in the final league of IPL 2023 against RCB, Brett Lee said, “He hit eight sixes. His shots on the leg side were brilliant. He has strong wrists and good timing. That’s why he is making runs consistently.”
Significantly, this season Shubman Gill’s bat has spoken fiercely. Gill has scored 680 runs in this season with two centuries. He is now just 50 runs behind winning the Orange Cap. Currently, Orange Cap is with RCB captain Faf du Plessis. Faf has 730 runs in his name.
Gill will now play at least two matches in IPL 2023. On the other hand, if Gujarat reaches the final after losing the first qualifier, then Gill will get a chance to bat in three matches, and if Gujarat wins the first qualifier, then Gill will bat in two matches. Still, looking at his form, it would not be wrong to say that Shubman Gill is certain to win the Orange Cap this season.
Till the league stage of IPL 2023, Shubman Gill has scored 680 runs in 14 matches at an average of 56.67 and a strike rate of 152.47. During this, 67 fours and 22 sixes have come out of his bat.
