Breaking! Nepal qualifies for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after unbeaten run in Oman

The Nepal cricket team has booked its place in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka. Led by captain Rohit Paudel, Nepal has won all four of their matches in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Asia and EAP Qualifiers 2025 in Oman.

With this unbeaten run, Nepal has secured one of the top three spots in the tournament even before the Super Six stage ends. They have now joined hosts Oman as the first two teams to qualify for next year’s T20 World Cup.

Second straight qualification in ICC Men’s T20 World Cup for Nepal

This is a historic moment for Nepal cricket. The team had to wait ten years to qualify for their first T20 World Cup in 2024 in the Caribbean. Now, they have qualified for the second straight edition in 2026. This shows their rapid rise in international cricket and growing confidence on the world stage.

Oman has also qualified for the T20 World Cup 2026 after remaining unbeaten in their matches at home. But unlike Nepal, this will be Oman’s fourth T20 World Cup appearance. They previously featured in 2016, 2021, and 2024.

Oman and Nepal are guaranteed to finish among the top three. The two unbeaten teams will now face each other at Al Amerat on Wednesday, October 15. The result will decide the top spot in the qualifier.

As of now, only one qualification slot is left in the ongoing Asia and EAP Qualifier. The remaining teams will battle for the final ticket to the T20 World Cup 2026, joining Oman and Nepal.
