Several star overseas players will feature early in the season. Pakistan superstar Babar Azam is set to play for Sydney Sixers in the opening game. Mohammad Rizwan and Shaheen Shah Afridi will face each other when Melbourne Renegades take on Brisbane Heat in Geelong. Defending champions Hobart Hurricanes will start their campaign at home. They will host Sydney Thunder at Ninja Stadium on Tuesday night.
All eight teams have announced strong squads for the season. Big Australian names like David Warner, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Travis Head and Mitchell Marsh will be in action. International stars such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Shadab Khan and Reece Topley also add excitement to the tournament.
