Bengaluru Police Issue Strict Advisory Ahead of RCB vs GT IPL 2026 Final

The stage is set for the IPL 2026 final as Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) take on Gujarat Titans (GT) on Sunday, May 31. The match has generated huge excitement among cricket fans across the country.

With expectations of large celebrations if RCB win the title, Bengaluru Police have issued a strict advisory. Several restrictions have been announced to maintain public safety and avoid any untoward incidents.

RCB reached the final after a dominant performance in Qualifier 1. The defending champions crushed Gujarat Titans by 92 runs after posting a massive total of 254/5.

GT, however, bounced back strongly in Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals. Chasing 215, Gujarat completed the target comfortably with eight balls remaining.

Captain Shubman Gill led the way with a brilliant 104 off 53 balls. Sai Sudharsan also played an important role with a quick 58. Their opening partnership of 167 runs helped GT secure a place in their third IPL final in five seasons.

Police Announce Restrictions Across Bengaluru

Ahead of the final, Bengaluru Police have urged fans to celebrate responsibly. Public gatherings on roads, parks, and open spaces have been discouraged.

The advisory states that LED walls and giant screens cannot be installed without permission. Existing screens also cannot be used for public match screenings unless approval has been granted.

Authorities have specifically warned malls, pubs, restaurants, and other establishments against arranging screenings that can be viewed from public roads.

Police have also banned bike rallies, stunt riding, over-speeding, road blockades, and unnecessary honking.

In addition, bursting crackers, consuming alcohol in public places, and engaging in activities that may lead to fights have been prohibited.

The advisory comes after the tragic events that followed RCB’s IPL 2025 title win. Huge celebrations near the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium led to a stampede. Eleven people lost their lives, while more than 50 were injured.

As RCB and GT prepare for the title clash, police have requested fans to enjoy the occasion while ensuring public safety remains the top priority.
