The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has made several changes to the original schedule Draft presented by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. According to sources, India and Pakistan will encounter each other for the first time in the Asia Cup 2023 on 2 September 2023 in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
Reportedly, the ACC has also preponed the Asia Cup 2023. Earlier, the tournament was set to commence on 30 August, but now the tournament will begin one day earlier from 29 August 2023 in Pakistan.
Recently the ACC accepted the hybrid model for the tournament as the games will now be conducted in Pakistan and Sri Lanka. However, the following schedule has not been officially declared by ACC yet and is yet to be presented before the officials as the final draft.
Asia Cup 2023: Venue and Time
The tournament will commence in Multan as the original host Pakistan will take on Nepal. The 50-over matches will begin at 1 PM (Pakistan Standard Time) and 1:30 for Sri Lanka and Indian Standard Time.
The tournament will comprise 13 games with India, Pakistan and Nepal in Group A and Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh in Group B. The top 2 teams finishing in both Groups will advance to the Super 4 Stage, and the top two teams will advance to the final game.
If India and Pakistan defeat Nepal in there doing then both teams will encounter each other once again in Kandy, Sri Lanka on 10 September.
