Steve achieved this feat as Ben Stokes came to bowl the 42nd over, and on the very first ball, Smith flicked him between mid-wicket and mid-on for a boundary.
Steve Smith created this record as the Australian top-order batsman played his 99th test match (174 Innings). Smith broke the record of the legendary former West Indian batsman Brian Lara who achieved this feat in 101 matches. Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara remains the fastest batsman in the history of test cricket to score 9000 runs, as he took only 172 innings to achieve this milestone.
