In IPL 2023, there has been a big reaction regarding Rajasthan Royals’ veteran spinner Yuzvendra Chahal. Before playing for Rajasthan, Chahal used to be a part of the RCB team, but the team released him. Former England captain Kevin Pietersen is surprised by this decision of RCB. He said during the commentary that don’t know why RCB had released a great bowler like Chahal.
If we talk about Yuzvendra Chahal, he made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians but he got the most success playing for RCB. He took a lot of wickets while playing for Bangalore and became a big name for the team. However, before the IPL 2022 auction, RCB released him. After this, Rajasthan Royals bought Yuzvendra Chahal during the auction for Rs 6.5 crore.
Chahal is now playing for Rajasthan Royals for the last two seasons and is doing well. This season too he has taken 11 wickets. This is the reason why Kevin Pietersen has expressed surprise at RCB’s decision to let a bowler like Chahal go.
Kevin Pietersen during commentary on Star Sports said “One of the biggest gifts in IPL history is Yuzvendra Chahal going to Rajasthan Royals. No idea how RCB let Chahal go. He always took wickets and Used to keep the team in the game. Can’t believe this guy is now playing in the pink jersey. He was RCB’s biggest player with the ball.”
