Bangladesh names a 17-Man Squad for the Asia Cup 2023

The Bangladesh cricket team has released their squad for Asia Cup 2023, which is set to begin on 30th August in Pakistan and conclude on 17 September. Bangladesh has announced a 17-man squad for the continental tournament. 

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) chairman, Nazmul Hassan Papon has named Shakib Al Hasan as the team’s captain for the Asia Cup and the upcoming marquee tournament, the ODI World Cup 2023. Shakib will be replacing Tamim Iqbal who will unfortunately miss the tournament due to a back injury. Tamim announced his retirement but came out of it and was highly anticipated to play both the tournament as Bangladesh’s opening batsman with Litton Das.

Bangladesh Squad for Asia Cup 2023 

Bangladesh cricket team’s batting squad looks interesting with striking top-order batsmen as well as strong middle-order batsmen such as Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Afif Hossain and Mushfiqur Rahim. 

Bangladesh’s bowling line-up looks very promising with a good blend of fast bowlers and experienced spinners like Mustafizur Rahman, Shakib Al Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Shoriful Islam and Taskin Ahmed.
