Rajasthan Royals led by Sanju Samson registered their third win of IPL 2023. The team played its fourth match of this edition against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk. Where RR, after losing the toss and batting first, scored a score of 175 runs.
In response, the host Chennai managed to score 172 runs. Therefore, the Royals won the match by three runs. After 2008, Rajasthan Royals have defeated Chennai Super Kings for the first time in Chepauk.
In such a situation, Captain Sanju Samson was very happy after winning here and said that, “The credit for this victory goes to the players of the team. The bowlers kept a tight end and bowled well. Because of this, we were able to hold onto the match as well.”
“I didn’t have any memories of Chepauk nor did we win matches here. So wanted to register a win in this stadium. The ball was gripping. That’s why we brought in Adam Zampa as an impact player. We had a good powerplay after Rutu got out and thought we would give runs in the powerplay. Our spinners did exactly that.” Sanju also added.
After winning the match, Sanju Samson was seen praising MS Dhoni fiercely. He said that,
“However, the last two overs were tense. I tried every way to get everything my way in the last over but you are never safe with that Mahi bhai. He has to be respected and everyone knows what he can do. Nothing works against him.”
