BCCI confirms 2 Irani Cup; Kolkata, Ahmedabad to host SMAT, Hazare knockouts

Kolkata and Ahmedabad can host the knockout stages of Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) and Vijay Hazare Trophy, severally, whereas the BCCI can conduct 2 Irani Cup ties over subsequent months.

SMAT, the domestic T20 event, can come about from October 11 to November 5 whereas the Vijay Hazare one-day competition can run from November 12 to December 2.

Punjab, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot and Jaipur can host the league stage of SMAT whereas metropolis, Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Ranchi can stage the Vijay Hazare league fixtures.

The inaugural women’s under-15 event are vie December 26 to January 12 across 5 venues as well as Bangalore, Ranchi, Rajkot, Indore, Raipur, Pune. “BCCI is glad to announce a women U-15 sooner or later tournament.

“This tournament is introduced to create a pathway for our youngsters which will help introduce fresh talent,” BCCI note to state units. The season begins with Duleep Trophy in September 8 to 25.

The premier domestic event, Ranji Trophy, returns to the standard home and away format and can run from December 12 to February 20.

Groups may solely get to play 3 league games in Ranji Trophy because of a truncated season.
