The Indian men’s cricket team visited the Indian High Commission in London ahead of the third and final ODI against England at Lord’s. The event was held on July 18, one day before the series decider.
Players and support staff interacted with members of the Indian diaspora during the special gathering. BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla was also present at the event.
Head coach Gautam Gambhir, captain Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and fast bowler Prasidh Krishna addressed the audience. They also answered questions from fans and shared their thoughts before the important match.
One of the biggest highlights of the event was the interaction between Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir. Photos from the gathering showed the three sitting together in the front row. They were also seen smiling, chatting and sharing light-hearted moments.
The pictures quickly caught the attention of fans on social media. The meeting came after discussions around Kohli and Gambhir’s relationship during the England tour. Before the ODI series began, many fans noticed quiet interactions between the two during practice sessions. Those moments led to fresh speculation because of their past differences.
India Eye ODI Series Win at Lord’s
India will enter the third ODI with the three-match series level at 1-1. They won the opening match at Edgbaston by six wickets before England bounced back with a four-wicket victory in Cardiff.
Virat Kohli has been one of India’s better performers in the series. He has scored 70 runs in two innings, including a well-made 65 off 66 balls in the second ODI. Earlier this year, he also scored a century and has continued to contribute with the bat.
Rohit Sharma has struggled for runs so far. The Indian captain has managed only 37 runs in two matches. He scored 26 from 47 balls in Cardiff after making 11 in the first ODI.
India will now look to produce a strong performance at Lord’s and finish the England tour by winning the ODI series. Fans will also hope Rohit returns to form in the deciding match.
