Virat Kohli Breaks Silence After RCB’s Historic IPL 2026 Title Triumph

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) finished their IPL 2026 campaign in style by defeating the Gujarat Titans in the final and winning their second straight IPL title. The victory came on May 31 in Ahmedabad and marked another memorable chapter in the franchise’s history.

RCB chased down a target of 156 runs and secured a five-wicket win. The title made them only the third team in IPL history to win back-to-back championships after the Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians.

Virat Kohli once again played a match-winning role. The former RCB captain remained unbeaten on 75 runs from just 42 balls and guided his team to victory. He shared a crucial 62-run opening partnership with Venkatesh Iyer and helped RCB dominate the chase from the beginning.

Virat Kohli Shares Emotional Message After RCB’s Triumph

More than a week after lifting the trophy, Kohli shared an emotional video on social media on June 9. The clip featured special moments from RCB’s successful season, including celebrations, dressing-room scenes, and team interactions.

Along with the video, Kohli wrote:

“Started the season with belief. Ended with back to back titles. 🏆 This team lived every emotion together. The highs, the pressure, the hurdles, and the unwavering support. It feels extra special because… this place is HOME! ❤️ @RCBTweets”

Kohli also enjoyed a record-breaking IPL 2026 season. He became the most-capped player in IPL history with 279 appearances, moving ahead of Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni.

The RCB star became the first player to score 500 or more runs in nine different IPL seasons. He also completed his fourth consecutive 600-plus run season and sixth overall.

Kohli crossed the milestone of 800 IPL fours during the season. He also registered the fastest half-century of his IPL career in the final against Gujarat Titans.

With another title and several records to his name, IPL 2026 turned out to be one of the most memorable seasons of Virat Kohli’s legendary career.
