Tensions were high during the IPL 2026 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Hyderabad. The spotlight was on Virat Kohli and Travis Head after both players were involved in a fiery on-field exchange.
RCB were chasing a huge target of 256 runs in the second innings. During the chase, Kohli and Head were seen having a verbal argument on the field. The tension between the two continued even after the match ended.
After SRH secured a dominant 55-run win over the defending champions, players from both teams lined up for the customary handshakes. However, when Kohli came face-to-face with Head, the former RCB captain appeared to completely ignore the Australian batter. The moment quickly went viral on social media.

Despite the heavy loss, RCB still finished at the top of the IPL 2026 points table. Rajat Patidar and his side ended the league stage with 18 points from 14 matches and booked their place in Qualifier 1. This gives them two chances to reach the IPL final in Ahmedabad on May 31.
SRH also finished with 18 points but missed out on a top-two finish because of net run-rate. The 2016 champions, led by Pat Cummins, will now play the Eliminator on May 27.
RCB will face Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 on May 26.
