Delhi Capitals collapse to 46/7 as RCB bowlers run riot in IPL 2026, Virat Kohli’s 9000 runs in IPL Cherry on Cake

The Delhi Capitals had a nightmare start against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 39 of the Indian Premier League 2026. Playing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, the home side collapsed badly in the first innings. They were struggling at 46 for seven wickets after 10 overs.

The trouble began very early. DC lost wickets quickly and never recovered. In one shocking phase, they lost six wickets for just eight runs in the fourth over. This left the team in deep trouble.

The collapse was triggered by the pace duo of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood. Bhuvneshwar struck in the very first over. He dismissed Sahil Parakh on just the second ball. This set the tone for RCB’s dominance.

Hazlewood then took control in the next over. He removed KL Rahul and Sameer Rizvi in the first two balls. He was even on a hat-trick at that point. DC had no answers to the tight bowling.

Bhuvneshwar continued the damage in his next over. He dismissed Tristan Stubbs and captain Axar Patel. Soon after, Hazlewood came back and picked up Nitish Rana’s wicket. At that stage, DC were in complete collapse at 8 for 6.

David Miller tried to fight back for his team. He scored 19 runs from 18 balls. But his effort was not enough. Rasikh Salam Dar dismissed him, and DC were left at 43 for seven. They later registered 75 runs in 16.3 overs.

The shocking performance led to strong reactions on social media. Fans flooded X (formerly Twitter) with memes and comments. Many were surprised by such a poor batting display from Delhi Capitals.

RCB’s bowlers dominated from the start. Later, Virat Kohli smashed 23 off 15, while Devdutt Padikkal smashed 34 off 13 to help RCB win by 9 wickets. DC will now need a big turnaround in the coming matches.

With the win, RCB has moved to 12 points with 6 games in hand.
