WPL 2026 Playoffs All Teams Qualification Scenarios, Race Tightens After RCB Seal Direct Final Spot

Royal Challengers Bengaluru confirmed their place in the Women’s Premier League 2026 final after a strong all-round display from Grace Harris on Thursday. RCB finished the league stage at the top of the table and secured a direct entry into the final.

While the finalists are now decided, the fight for the remaining playoff spots is still wide open. Four teams are separated by a small points gap. Only two league matches remain. Net run rate (NRR) is expected to play a major role. Every run and wicket could change the final standings.

Qualification Scenarios for Each Team

Gujarat Giants

Remaining fixture: vs Mumbai Indians (Jan 30)

Gujarat Giants moved to second place after beating Delhi Capitals by three runs. They now have eight points from seven matches. A win against Mumbai Indians will take them to 10 points and confirm qualification.

Even if they lose, Gujarat can still qualify if UP Warriorz beat Delhi Capitals. However, their poor net run rate of -0.271 is a concern. A narrow loss could allow Delhi to overtake them on NRR.

Mumbai Indians

Remaining fixture: vs Gujarat Giants (Jan 30)

Mumbai Indians are in a good position because they have the best net run rate among the teams fighting for qualification. They also have a strong record against Gujarat.

A win will likely secure their playoff spot. Even a loss may not hurt them unless it is a heavy one. In that case, they would need Delhi to lose their final match.

Delhi Capitals

Remaining fixture: vs UP Warriorz (Feb 1)

Delhi Capitals must win their final game to guarantee qualification. A loss could push them into a tie, where net run rate will decide their fate.

They have the advantage of playing the last match and knowing exactly what margin is needed.

UP Warriorz

Remaining fixture: vs Delhi Capitals (Feb 1)

UP Warriorz are almost out of the race. They have four points and the weakest net run rate.

To qualify, they need a big win over Delhi and also hope Gujarat beat Mumbai by a large margin. Their chances remain very slim.
