The defending IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), have revealed their player retention list for IPL 2025, in line with the BCCI’s revised retention rules. Teams were allowed a maximum of six retained players, including uncapped options, making KKR’s decisions crucial as they aim to build a balanced squad for their title defense.
After careful consideration, KKR retained six core players, with big-hitters Andre Russell and Rinku Singh leading the roster. Rinku, retained for INR 13 crore, holds the top slot, while Russell, a vital all-rounder for KKR, secured the fourth slot at INR 12 crore. Spin maestro Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy, another standout bowler, were also retained at INR 12 crore each, showcasing KKR’s commitment to an experienced bowling lineup. For the uncapped slots, KKR opted to retain promising young talents Harshit Rana and Ramandeep Singh, both valued at INR 4 crore.
