The Indian Premier League (IPL) is set for significant changes as teams prepare for the 2025 season, which will feature another mega auction. The Gujarat Titans, IPL 2022 champions, are reportedly planning a major overhaul in their coaching staff.
According to sources, Gujarat Titans’ current head coach Ashish Nehra and director of cricket Vikram Solanki are expected to leave the franchise ahead of IPL 2025. The coaching team also includes Aashish Kapoor, Naeem Amin, Narender Negi, and Mithun Manhas, who may also see changes.
‘Discussions around Yuvraj Singh have already begun’ – Sources
A recent report by News18 suggests that discussions have begun to bring in former Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh as the new head coach of the Gujarat Titans.
“Lots of changes on the cards. Ashish Nehra and Vikram Solanki are highly likely to move on and discussions around Yuvraj Singh have already begun. Nothing is finalized right now, but there could be some major changes in the coaching staff of the Gujarat Titans,” an insider revealed to News18.
This potential shake-up comes after the departure of Gary Kirsten, who served as a mentor for the Titans. Kirsten left to become Pakistan’s white-ball coach.

The Gujarat Titans have already seen significant roster changes. Former captain Hardik Pandya was traded to the Mumbai Indians ahead of the 2024 season, a move that did not yield positive results as both teams ended at the bottom of the points table.
The Titans, who impressed in their debut season in 2022 with a strong winning streak and a finals appearance in 2023, struggled under new captain Shubman Gill in the latest season. With the upcoming changes, the team aims to rebuild and strengthen its squad for better outcomes.
As the franchise prepares for the new season, the management is keen on assembling a winning team and a robust coaching staff that can steer the Titans back to the top. The potential addition of Yuvraj Singh as head coach is seen as a move to inject fresh energy and experience into the team.
