Estonia’s Sahil Chauhan Shatters Records with Fastest Century in T20 cricket

In a groundbreaking development, Estonia-based cricketer Sahil Chauhan has rewritten the history books by scoring the fastest century in T20 cricket on June 17th. Chauhan achieved this remarkable feat in just 27 balls, surpassing the previous record set by Namibia’s Jan-Nicol Loftie Eaton, who reached a century in 33 balls.

T20 cricket, known for its rapid pace and evolving dynamics, continues to witness new milestones, and Sahil Chauhan‘s achievement is a testament to the ever-increasing standards in the format. His performance came during Estonia’s match against Cyprus, where he also broke the record held by Chris Gayle for the fastest century in T20 cricket. Gayle’s record, set during the Indian Premier League in 2013 for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors India, was achieved in 30 deliveries.

Sahil Chauhan surpasses Chris Gayle’s RCB record with his fastest century in T20 cricket

Chauhan’s innings not only eclipsed Gayle’s long-standing record but also saw him hit the most sixes in a single T20I innings. He hammered 18 maximums against Cyprus, showcasing his incredible power and timing. Despite this extraordinary century, Chauhan’s half-century mark in 14 balls did not break existing records, as several cricketers have reached this milestone in fewer deliveries in both international and domestic cricket.
