Ravichandran Ashwin Set to Make History with 100th Test Match at Dharmshala.

Ravichandran Ashwin is poised to mark a monumental milestone as he steps onto the field for his 100th Test match at Dharmshala against England, boasting an impressive tally of 507 test wickets. Joining the elite league of cricketers, Ashwin will become the 14th Indian to achieve this distinction and the 77th globally.

Among the notable Indian players who have etched their names in the annals of cricket history with 100 Test appearances are legends like Sunil Gavaskar (125 Test matches), Sachin Tendulkar (200 Test matches), and Virat Kohli (113 Test matches), to name a few. Ashwin will now stand shoulder to shoulder with these icons as he reaches this pinnacle of his career.

Notably, only a select few from Australia and England have donned the prestigious 100 Test caps, with Jonny Bairstow poised to become the 17th English cricketer to achieve this milestone, having already played 99 Tests.

At 37 years and 172 days, Ashwin will add another feather to his cap by becoming the oldest Indian cricketer to reach this landmark. Among the international cricket fraternity, he will rank as the sixth oldest upon achieving this feat, following the likes of Geoffrey Boycott, Clive Lloyd, Graham Gooch, Gordon Greenidge, and Younis Khan.
