3 Players Who Fully Justified Their Price Tags in IPL 2026

The 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season has come to an end, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) successfully defending their title. The season featured several high-profile signings as franchises spent heavily during the auction.

While some expensive players struggled to make an impact, a few stars delivered outstanding performances and proved their worth. Here are three players who lived up to their price tags in IPL 2026.

Cooper Connolly, Venkatesh Iyer and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Shine Bright

Punjab Kings invested INR 3.00 crore in Australian youngster Cooper Connolly. The left-handed batter quickly became an important part of the team. Batting at number three, he scored 491 runs at a strike rate of 163.12.

Connolly announced himself with an unbeaten 72 off 44 balls against Gujarat Titans. Throughout the season, he provided stability and attacking intent. His performances reminded many fans of Shaun Marsh’s memorable debut IPL season in 2008.

RCB signed Venkatesh Iyer for INR 7.00 crore. Although he spent the early part of the season on the bench, he made the most of every opportunity. The all-rounder scored 209 runs at an impressive strike rate of 186.61.

His unbeaten 73 off 40 balls against Punjab Kings was one of the highlights of his season. He also scored a quick 44 off 19 balls as an opener and contributed 32 off just 16 deliveries in the IPL final.

At the top of the list is Rajasthan Royals sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. Bought for INR 1.10 crore, the 15-year-old produced one of the greatest breakthrough seasons in IPL history.

Sooryavanshi scored a remarkable 776 runs at a staggering strike rate of 237.31. He registered five fifties, two scores in the 90s during the playoffs, and one century. His fearless batting helped Rajasthan Royals reach the playoffs and established him as one of cricket’s brightest young stars.
