The Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) declared an increase in monthly pensions of former cricketers (both men and women) and former umpires.<\/p>\n

The first-class players, who were paid \u20b9 15,000 will now get \u20b9 30,000 whilst former Test players, who got \u20b9 37,500, will now receive \u20b9 60,000.<\/p>\n

Those who were paid \u20b9 50,000 pension will now receive \u20b9 70,000.\u00a0 The women internationals, who received \u20b9 30,000, will get \u20b9 52,500 from now.<\/p>\n

The first-class cricketers who retired ahead of 2003 and get \u20b9 22,500 will now receive \u20b9 45,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is essential that the financial well-being of our former cricketers is taken care of. The players remain the lifeline and as a Board, it is our duty to be by their side once their playing days are over,\u201d stated BCCI president\u00a0Sourav Ganguly.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m pleased to announce an increase in the monthly pension of former cricketers (men & women) and match officials. Around 900 personnel will avail of this benefit and close to 75% of personnel will be beneficiaries of a 100 pc raise,\u201d BCCI secretary Jay Shah cited on Twitter.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe umpires have been unsung heroes and the BCCI truly values their contribution.\u201d<\/p>\n

BCCI treasurer Arun Singh Dhumal stated, \u201cWhatever the BCCI is today, it is because of the contribution of its former cricketers and umpires.\u201d<\/p>\n
