World Cup 2023 likely to start from October 5, Ahmedabad to host final on November 19

The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 can be organized from 05 October. The final match of the tournament will be played on 19 November. This event will be organized for 46 days in more than 10 cities of India.

The final match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. According to ESPN Cricinfo, apart from Ahmedabad, matches will be played in Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamshala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot and Mumbai. During the tournament, 48 matches will be played in 46 days with three knockout matches. Although it has not been officially announced yet.

The BCCI has not yet decided the venue for any match including the warm-up match. Generally ICC releases the schedule of the World Cup a year in advance, but the BCCI needs necessary approval from the Government of India on many things, from tax exemption to visa approval of the Pakistan team. Because of which the schedule is getting delayed.

In the ICC meeting held in Dubai last week, the BCCI has assured the ICC that the Pakistan team’s visa will get the approval of the Government of India, but on the issue of tax exemption, the BCCI will soon convey the Indian government’s position to the ICC. Will update.
