Harry Brook took only 1058 deliveries to reach 1000 runs in test cricket, beating Colin deGrandhomme who previously held the record for scoring the fastest 1000 runs in test cricket as he took 1140 deliveries to set the record.

“It’s a lot more nerve-wracking when you’re sat up there than in the middle. I’m not one to blow up when I get in the changing room but I had a little blow-up today. I like getting us over the line and yeah, it was annoying that I didn’t today, but I’m happy we won,” said Harry Brook in a recent conversation with Sky Sports after England won the third test match against Australia.

Steve achieved this feat as Ben Stokes came to bowl the 42nd over, and on the very first ball, Smith flicked him between mid-wicket and mid-on for a boundary.
Steve Smith created this record as the Australian top-order batsman played his 99th test match (174 Innings). Smith broke the record of the legendary former West Indian batsman Brian Lara who achieved this feat in 101 matches. Former Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara remains the fastest batsman in the history of test cricket to score 9000 runs, as he took only 172 innings to achieve this milestone.
