Chennai Super Kings, the defending champions of IPL 2024 were seen being quite active during the IPL 2024 auction as they welcomed many familiar names in international Cricket to their squad. From Shardul Thakur to the kiwi opening batter Rachin Ravindra, CSK welcomed 6 new players to their squad in the IPL auction 2024.

Thakur was released by KKR and CSK welcomed him back after releasing him before the mega auction in IPL 2022. CSK also bought the New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Mitchell to add value with both bat and the ball in the middle order. With Ambati Rayudu’s retirement CSK was looking for a good attacking batsman whom they got in Rachin for 1.8 crore.

Dhoni looked very disappointed after the defeat. He said after the match that while defending the target, it cost his team dearly to concede more runs in the middle two overs. Dhoni told the IPL broadcasters that we bowled two bad overs in the middle overs. Bowlers should know where to bowl. It was clear that now the batsmen would try to hit big shots.

Regarding his bowlers, Dhoni said that his bowlers have less experience and the batsmen will have to make up for it. He said that we could have scored 10-15 more runs during our batting. Our bowlers are still young. He just needs a little more experience.

He praised Mahish Pathirana for bowling brilliantly under pressure and said that he bowled well. Apart from this, we need to see whether our planning was wrong or we could not succeed in implementing it on the field.

The team of Punjab Kings needed 9 runs in the last over. Sikandar Raza and Shah Rukh Khan were present at the crease. Raza took a single on the first ball. After this, the ball did not hit Shahrukh’s bat on the second ball, yet both ran away and took a run.

In the match played on Sunday night at Kolkata’s Eden Gardens, Ajinkya Rahane’s fiery avatar was seen again. Rahane played a blistering inning of 71 runs off 29 balls. Due to his innings, CSK scored a huge score of 235 runs against KKR, in response KKR’s team could score only 186 runs.

Ajinkya Rahane rewarded with “Man of theMatch” Award against KKR. Regarding his performance in the post match ceremony, the star player said,

”Just have a clear mindset. If your mind is right then you will be fine. I am just trying to enjoy my game. The wicket was a bit sticky, but once you get in, you have a good chance. We got off to a great start and after that I just wanted to play my shots and keep the momentum going.”

In the current season, Rahane has scored 209 runs in 5 matches so far at an impressive average of 52.25 and a blazing average of 199. In his very first match of this season, Ajinkya scored 61 runs in just 27 balls against Mumbai Indians as well.

It is clear that Rahane is batting with an open mind and has been given clarity and freedom by MS Dhoni. Rahane would like to do the same for CSK in the coming matches as this is his best batting performance till date in T20 cricket.
