Indian team beat Pakistan in the 110th year of the Asian games 2023 in the final match by 2-1. Previously, the Indian men’s squash team won a bronze medal in the previous edition of the tournament, which was conducted in Jakarta, Indonesia in 2018.

The final match of the men’s squash event was a Best of the three game as Pakistan won the first round, and India won the other two rounds.
The match began with Mahesh Mangaonkar losing the round to Nasir Iqbal. The loss was later recovered by Saurav Ghosal as he beat the Pakistani squash player Muhammad Asim Khan in the second round. The final round took place between Abhay Singh and Noor Zaman, wherein Abhay defeated Zaman by 3-2 and made India win the gold medal.

The men’s cricket event in the Asian Games 2023 will be conducted in the T20 format from 28 September to 8 October 2023. The games will be held at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is scheduled in India from 5th October, and the squad members of the Asian Games 2023 are probably those who will not be able to take part in the prestigious tournament.
The squad members selected for the Asian Games 2023 are mostly young cricketers who have showcased spectacular performances in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The tournament will take place in Hangzhou, China in September and October. However, the board has clearly stated that the players who will be selected for the Indian cricket team squad during the ICC Cricket World Cup, 2023, will not take part in the Asian Games 2023. Recently, multiple reports claimed that the BCCI has selected Shikhar Dhawan to lead the Indian cricket team’s squad for the Asian games, in 2023.
“BCCI will send both men’s and women’s teams to the Asian Games scheduled to be held in September 2023 at Hangzhou, China. However, considering the overlap of schedule of the Asian Games with ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, BCCI will select from the players not participating in the World Cup to play in the Asian Games,” said the BCCI secretary Jay Shah after the 19th Apex council meeting on 7 July 2023.
-The BCCI will send both men’s and women’s teams to the Asian Games scheduled to be held in September 2023 at Hangzhou, China.
– BCCI will formulate a policy for its players (including retired players) with respect to their participation in overseas T20 leagues.
– BCCI shall continue with the concept of Impact Player in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in the next season with two variations from the previous season and the Indian Premier League – a) The teams will have to select their playing XI along with 4 substitute players before the toss; and (b) The teams can use the Impact Player at any time during the match. In the previous season of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a team could only use the Impact Player before the 14th over of an innings.
– The BCCI has decided to introduce two bouncers per over in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy to balance the contest between bat and ball.
– BCCI shall work towards the upgradation of stadiums in the country in two phases: (a) The first phase will deal with the upgradation of the venues of ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, work for which shall be completed before the commencement of the World Cup; and (b) The second phase will involve upgradation of rest of the venues.
