The Sri Lanka cricket team has officially qualified for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 after finishing in the number one spot of the Super Six Qualifier stage. With one more match remaining of the super six, Sri Lanka stands on the top of the table with eight points.
The Sri Lankan team has won all four matches they have played against Scotland, Netherlands, Oman, and Zimbabwe. With one more match remaining against West Indies, Sri Lanka has already made it to the league stage of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
The team managed easy wins against Scotland, Zimbabwe and Oman, but had to give a tough fight to the Netherlands to seal the victory and qualify for the league matches of the biggest cricket tournament, the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The team will play their last match on 7 July against West Indies in Harare.
According to the official information by the international cricket Council (ICC), Sri Lanka will play their match fixtures from the position of Qualifier 2, irrespective of their position on the Points Table of super six. The Qualifier 1 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is yet to be decided.
