RCB Move Closer to IPL 2026 Playoffs After Big Win Over KKR, All Teams Qualifications Explained

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have moved closer to securing a place in the IPL 2026 playoffs. They strengthened their position after beating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by six wickets in Raipur on Wednesday, May 13.

RCB chased down the target comfortably. Star batter Virat Kohli played a match-winning innings. He remained unbeaten on 105 runs from just 60 balls. His knock helped the defending champions continue their strong run in the tournament.

According to Star Sports, RCB now have a 92.6 percent chance of reaching the playoffs. Their chances of finishing in the top four are among the highest in the league. A top-two finish is also possible for them. Teams that finish in the top two get two opportunities to reach the IPL final, which is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad on May 31.

Gujarat Titans Lead Qualification Race

Despite RCB’s impressive win, they do not hold the highest qualification percentage. Gujarat Titans (GT) are currently leading that list with a 94.8 percent chance of reaching the playoffs.

GT have won five matches in a row and are in strong form. The 2022 champions have 16 points from 12 matches. RCB also have 16 points, but Rajat Patidar’s side have a better net run rate.

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) are next on the list. SRH have a qualification chance of 64.7 percent, while PBKS stand at 62.8 percent. Punjab remain in the race despite losing four matches in a row. They still have 13 points and three matches left.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have slipped after a strong start. They have 12 points from 11 games and have lost their last two matches. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have a slightly better qualification probability at 41.7 percent compared to RR’s 40.6 percent.

Delhi Capitals and KKR are still mathematically alive, but their chances remain extremely low.
