On Friday India’s Olympic silver honorlist Ravi Dahiya is out of medal competition within the Wrestling World Championships when losing to Uzbekistan’s Gulomjon Abdullaev within the 57kg qualification spherical in Beograd .

While Dahiya created associate early exit, Naveen entered the bronze match when beating World No. four Syrbaz Talgat of Uzbekistan in 70kg gap opening of race 11-3.

World No. 2 Dahiya lost by technical superiority (10-0) to the Uzbek in an exceedingly rather one-sided bout.

Dahiya,  won the silver at the Tokyo Olympics last year, won’t be contesting in race for bronze as Abdullaev lost to Albanian wrestler Zelimkhan Abakarov.

On the opposite hand, Naveen’s win took him on to the bronze match as his next-round opponent Ilyas Bekbulatov (Uzbekistan) could not contend thanks to associate injury.

Dahiya had defeated Razvan mother Kovacs of Romania by technical superiority (10-0) within the initial round 10-0.

It was never aiming to be a straightforward outing for Dahiya as he has lost to World No. 30 Abdullaev multiple times within the past.

Even though Abdullaev exacted revenge over Dahiya when his loss within the UWW Ranking Series event (Yasar Dogu 2022) in Istanbul in February, the Uzbek couldn’t go past Abakarov, who won by technical superiority (13-2) to book his match spot.
