The Gujarat Titans (GT) have announced the appointment of Parthiv Patel as their assistant batting coach for the IPL 2025 season. The Ahmedabad-based franchise emphasized Parthiv’s illustrious 17-year cricketing career and his proven track record as a player, mentor, and coach.
Parthiv, a former Indian wicketkeeper-batter, played 25 Tests, 38 ODIs, and two T20Is for India. His IPL career spanned several franchises, including Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Mumbai Indians (MI), and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), where he retired as a player in 2018. Notably, he was part of MI’s title-winning squads, excelling as a top-order batter and wicketkeeper.

In addition to his playing career, Parthiv has developed a reputation as a sharp tactician and mentor. He served as a talent scout for MI and later as a batting coach for Mumbai Emirates, honing his coaching and scouting expertise.
The Titans highlighted Parthiv’s role in strengthening their batting unit, particularly in developing young talent. “Parthiv’s sharp cricketing acumen and mentorship skills will be invaluable as we focus on refining our batting strategies and nurturing talent,” GT said in a statement.
