The Indian women’s cricket team recently ended their tour of Bangladesh after playing 3 T20I matches and 3 ODI ICC Championship Matches. The 3 Match T20I series was won by the Indian women’s cricket team, while the ODI series ended in a draw.
The last match of the ODI series took place on 22 July 2023 at the Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka and ended as a tie as both the teams scored 225 runs. However, the Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was not satisfied with the decision of the match ending as a draw and called the match to be umpire biased.
Earlier during the match, Harmanpreet Kaur was not satisfied with her dismissal decision by the umpire as the Bangladesh team got her for an LBW. She vented out her dissatisfaction about the umpire’s verdict by hitting the stumps with her bat.
Harmanpreet was also seen saying something animatedly to the umpire while making her way back to the dugout. Harmanpreet also called out the empires once again in the post-match ceremony by calling the level of umpiring, Pathetic.

“For the on-field incident (smashing the wicket) she will be fined 50 per cent of her match fee while for the way she represented herself in the presentation ceremony, she will be fined 25 per cent of her match fee,” said Akhtar Ahmed.
“It is totally her (Harmanpreet’s) problem. I have nothing to do with it. As a player, she could have shown better manners,” said Nigar Sultana, Captain of Bangladesh Women’s cricket team.
