Pakistan captain Fatima Sana said her team will treat every match equally in the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The tournament will be played in England and Wales from June 12 to July 5. Pakistan and India have once again been placed in the same group, which has already created excitement among cricket fans.
India and Pakistan matches always attract huge attention during ICC events. However, Fatima said Pakistan are not focusing only on one game. She believes every match in the tournament will be important because T20 cricket can change very quickly.
Fatima Sana Confident Ahead of India Clash
Speaking during a training camp in Lahore, Fatima said Pakistan are preparing well for the World Cup. She also hoped that her side would perform strongly against India women’s national cricket team, who won their first Women’s ODI World Cup title last year.
“Obviously, we are well-prepared, and the World Cup is such an event in which every match is important; also, T20 cricket is such that anything can be changed rapidly. So, we are not looking forward to a specific match,” Fatima said during a media interaction on the sidelines of a training camp in Lahore.
“As everybody knows, India and Pakistan have a good match, so God willing, we will try to play well,” Fatima added.
Pakistan are also coming into the tournament with good form. They recently defeated Zimbabwe 3-0 in a home T20I series. Fatima played a major role in the series win. The 24-year-old scored the fastest fifty in Women’s T20I history, reaching the landmark in only 15 balls. She broke the previous record shared by Richa Ghosh, Sophie Devine, and Phoebe Litchfield. She also picked up five wickets in the series.
Before the World Cup begins, Pakistan will travel to Dublin for a tri-series involving Ireland and the West Indies. Pakistan are placed in Group A alongside India, Australia, Bangladesh, the Netherlands, and South Africa.
